The Donegal operator specified the 13m 53/55 seat vehicle which comes with Volvo Driver Support System (DSS) as standard. The DSS includes AEBS (forward collision warning and advanced emergency braking systems), LKS (lane keeping support) and ACC (adaptive cruise control).
Bus Feda Managing Director, Brian O’Donnell, explained: “We’ve been a customer of Volvo since the early 1980s and the reliability and familiarity of the vehicles ensures we come back every time.
“We’ve been really pleased with the quality, appearance and operational performance of this coach and our customers are really impressed too.
“We also value the excellent aftersales support we receive from our two dealerships, Dennison Commercials in Ballyclare and Irish Commercials in Galway. We enjoy a good relationship with both and use them for all our external service requirements, depending on where our fleet is located at the time.”
David Porter, Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager for Volvo Bus, said: “We have enjoyed a long standing relationship with Bus Feda and we are delighted to deliver this integral coach to them. We are confident they will benefit from the performance offered by the Volvo B11R 9700 and that their passengers will enjoy the ride and comfort it provides.”
Bus Feda is a 55 year old business which has become one of Ireland’s most successful coach companies. Its origins go back to 1961 when Feda O’ Donnell returned from working in Scotland to set up a taxi service in his native Ranafast and the surrounding area.
