Uno, the University of Hertfordshire-owned bus operator, set the stage for a smooth transition by welcoming freshers with the introduction of five new Volvo B8L-MCV eVoSeti double deck 6x2 buses on Friday (September 27).
Volvo Truck and Bus has completed the second major refurbishment of one of its wholly-owned London dealerships within the space of just 18 months – completely overhauling its London North depot, which has been the site of a Volvo Truck & Bus operation since 1994.
Volvo Buses is to bring a 57-seater coach into the UK and Irish markets, with the expansion of its recently launched 12.6m Volvo B8R – MCV eVoTor coach range.
In a first for the UK, 16 Volvo 9700 double-deck coaches have been delivered into service in Scotland, to operate Megabus and Scottish Citylink services. Over the next few months, 27 more of the new models will be delivered into operation in the country.

Proven reliability drives order for eight new Volvo B8RLE MCV eVoRas for Wiltshire bus fleet
Volvo Buses has delivered four more B8RLE - MCV eVoRa 10.8m buses into service with Faresaver, Wiltshire’s family bus company – with a further six set to join the fleet later this year. They will primarily run between Chippenham and Bath.

Volvo Buses secures order from London operator for new Volvo B8R – MCV eVoTor coaches
London-based Redwing Coaches, backed by sector investor REL Capital, is to be one of the launch customers for the Volvo B8R – MCV eVoTor, the new coach exclusively launched in the UK and Ireland in November.
A fleet of 17 new Volvo B8RLE-MCV eVoRa 13m low entry car park shuttle buses are delivering an enhanced service for Dublin Airport Authority. Operated by Aircoach, an Ireland-based subsidiary company of FirstGroup, they have replaced a mixed fleet of older Euro-3 buses.
Houston’s, a luxury coach and bus operator based in Lockerbie, Scotland, has begun taking delivery of four new Volvo B8RLE-MCV eVoRas, which they will use on the once at risk 240-mile round-trip between Dumfries and Edinburgh.

Volvo Buses Global Electromobility VP shares noise pollution expertise during Stagecoach visit
One of the Volvo Group’s leading advocates of green technologies, Vice President of Electromobility Business Development at Volvo Buses, Marie Carlsson, visited Stagecoach East’s Cambridgeshire depot to emphasise the benefits of electromobility for public health.
Yet another reliable Volvo bus has joined Lochs Motor Transport’s 25-strong fleet on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. It’s the operator’s second Volvo B8RLE MCV eVoRa – in the longer 12.1 metre variant – purchased after experiencing excellent performance from the incumbent vehicle.

Lothian has today (20th September) announced an order for 50 new Volvo BZL Electric double deck buses, each with MCV bodywork, for Scotland’s capital city. At an investment of over £24million, Lothian will introduce these new vehicles in two batches across 2024, with the first vehicles appearing on Edinburgh’s streets in early spring. This investment cements the company’s commitment to reduce emissions and improve air quality in its operating environment.
