Volvo expands its coach range for Mexico and presents the new integral 9800 DD at the ExpoForo exhibition. The double-decker version offers 40 per cent increased passenger capacity compared to the single-decker 9800 – up to 63 passengers.
The Volvo 9800 DD has been developed to achieve high operational efficiency while offering the best travel experience. It offers an interior height of 1.80 meters on both decks as well as full capacity luggage racks. It is the only coach on the market offering a wheelchair ramp.
The vehicle is powered by the D13 driveline which has an output of 500 hp and is the most powerful on the Mexican market.
The 9800 DD is equipped with Volvo’s advanced security systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Support and Collision Warning with Emergency Brake. The staircase to the second floor faces forward to reduce risks in case of emergency braking.
The Volvo 9800 DD is 15m in length, 4.2m high and 2.60m wide. It is equipped with the Volvo electronically controlled disc brakes (EBS) and Electronic stability Program (ESP).
At the Expo Foro exhibition, Volvo also presents a 15m version of the Volvo 9800 single decker. The Volvo 9800 was launched in 2016 and to date Volvo has sold 1,055 units.
