Also known as Thandi Coaches, or by its daily Thandi Express service, the company welcomes the coach into a fleet of 30 vehicles at its Smethwick depot, consisting of a mix of buses and coaches. With a growing emphasis on the coach sector, the latest addition is dedicated to the company’s cyclical route through England, Scotland and Ireland – demonstrating the model’s reliability and versatility in meeting the needs of both passengers and drivers.

The new vehicles offer generous on-board luggage racks and are designed with 53 high quality seats and a centre sunken freshwater toilet, which can be dismantled to allow for a total of 55 seats. Passengers can also stay connected on the road with individual USB charging points and a premium Bosch audiovisual system for longer journeys.

The B8R benefits from Volvo’s D8K engine for enhanced fuel-efficiency, producing up to 350 hp and a peak torque of 1,585 Nm. This is driven through a 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission which combines smooth and precise gearshifts with high average speeds, to ensure outstanding driveability.
Established and founded in Birmingham back in 1968, Thandi Red’s main service is coach hire, as well as providing hire of executive coaches, minibuses and VIP luxury cars. Thandi Express is one of the company’s flagship services, offering coach tickets between Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Luton, East London and Kent, plus four daily scheduled services to London Heathrow Airport and coach hire to and from Birmingham Airport.
