Proven reliability drives order for eight new Volvo B8RLE MCV eVoRas for Wiltshire bus fleet

Volvo Buses has delivered four more B8RLE - MCV eVoRa 10.8m buses into service with Faresaver, Wiltshire’s family bus company – with a further six set to join the fleet later this year. They will primarily run between Chippenham and Bath.

The buses were purchased as natural fleet replacements for older vehicles, ensuring passenger comfort remains a top priority as the vehicles run, on average, 18 hours a day, seven days a week, on interurban routes.

“The driveline is particularly strong, as you’d expect from a Volvo. It copes really well with the average operating speeds we like to maintain, particularly on hilly routes, ensuring our passengers reach their destinations safely, and in a timely fashion.”

This specification of vehicle seats 39 passengers, with comfortable high-backed seats, three-point seatbelts, and USB charging points for added convenience. It delivers excellent fuel efficiency, thanks to Volvo’s 8-litre Euro 6 engine, and superior stability and comfort with Volvo Dynamic Steering allowing for a smoother ride and reduced strain on the driver.

Faresaver Buses is family-owned business that can trace its roots back to 1979, and provides scheduled bus services. It currently runs a fleet of 60 vehicles made up of midibuses, as well as full size single and double deckers. The company operates a network of bus services spanning the North Wiltshire and Bath areas, and is one of the biggest privately owned bus companies in the southwest of England.
