Edwards Coaches are very much a part of the community across Wales, with a rich history of serving the Welsh community going as far back as 1925. They currently carry more than 5,500 students to school each day, operate most of the coaches that travel out of Wales for National Express, 365 days of the year around the clock. On top of this, they transport over 50,000 clients on their own holiday programme and operate the local bus service across the area. The service runs to the market town of Pontypridd to Cardiff City Centre and they needed four vehicles to meet the needs of a busy bus route and cater for a variety of different passengers.
With the robust support of the B8RLE chassis and the MCV eVoRa body, the new vehicles chosen by Edwards will help delivery of the service across the mixed operating environments of the route. Edwards latest investment shows their continued commitment to the local community and encourages local people to reduce their carbon footprint and give the bus a try!
Alex Holland, National Express & Local Bus Service Operations Manager at
Edwards Coaches tells us, “As of early June, the four vehicles have now been rolled out onto the route, where operations have been running smoothly and passengers have been giving excellent feedback. Keep an eye on your screens Casualty fans – you might spot one of Edwards eVoRa’s appear in the near future!”
Simon Woolacott, Regional Account Manager South at Volvo Bus said, “It has been a pleasure to be able to supply Edwards four new vehicles for their local bus fleet. The Volvo B8RLE eVoRa is the perfect vehicle to serve the local community now and for the years to come.”
