Featured in the show’s new outdoor/indoor section, the exhibition coach is in left hand drive format and is built on the established and highly successful Volvo B11R chassis.
James Hyde, Retail Sales Director for Volvo Buses UK & Ireland, said: “Operators will be familiar with the original 9700 which was our flagship premium coach for a number of years and was superseded by the 9900 and launched at Euro Bus Expo in late 2018.
“We wanted to take this opportunity to show customers the new 9700. While this particular model is in LHD variant, it is very close to the specification we will be offering to the UK market from late 2020 onwards and this will give everyone a good flavour of what this fantastic new coach will have to offer.”
Launched into the European market in 2018 alongside its ‘stable mate’ vehicle the 9900, the new 9700 offers state-of-the-art design, fuel-saving aerodynamics and many in-built safety features.
The new 9700 forms part of what Volvo Buses described as the biggest renewal of its European coach range in several decades and at CBUK customers will be welcomed to see the vehicle at close quarters for the first time.
