The Hull based company, which was formed in 1926 and privatised through a MBO in 1987, purchased the vehicles following previous positive experience of Volvo products.
The new Volvo B9TL and B5TL vehicles were delivered in July 2015 and have joined the 300 plus fleet, which consists predominately of Volvo buses.
Peter Shipp, Owner of EYMS, said: "All the new vehicles have been allocated to one of our main inter-urban routes between Hull and York, and these new Volvo double-deckers will allow our passengers to travel in comfort and style on some of the most environmentally friendly buses available anywhere in the UK.
"Our job is not just to get passengers to their location safely, but ensure their journey is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The quality and high standard of our new double-deckers play an important role in this."
Robert Gibson, Chief Engineer of EYMS added: “We have a long standing, great relationship with Volvo, and the support team at Crossroads Hull.
“Reliability, performance and the durability of the Volvo chassis were key in our purchase criteria.
The Volvo B5TL Euro 6 with MCV body is the first example of the new MCV Evo Seti body on a B5TL chassis and the three Volvo B9TL Wrightbus bodied vehicles complement the existing EYMS fleet.”
Dan Barwick, Fleet Sales Manager for Volvo Bus, commented: “EYMS took delivery of these four new vehicles from Volvo following ongoing in-service results in terms of fuel efficiency and reliability in the past. This experience played a significant role in them specifying Volvo again this time around.”
EYMS currently runs more than 300 buses and coaches throughout Hull, East Yorkshire and the North Yorkshire coast operating coach holidays and day trips in the area.
