Supplied from Volvo’s plant in Borås, Sweden the chassis were bodied at the MCV plant in Egypt, before being shipped to the UK and delivered to Golden Tours.
The new vehicles joined the Golden Tours fleet in February and are already being used on the company’s popular London sightseeing tourist routes.
Volvo’s low floor 10.3-metre B9TL is specified with a rigid low beam front axle. The bus is powered by a rear mounted Volvo D9B engine and is fitted with the ZF Ecolife gearbox.
“We have been delighted with the performance and reliability of the open top Volvo B9TL buses we had last year,” explained Golden Tours Managing Director, Nick Palan. “They have proven popular with our drivers and indeed our customers.
