Volvo Buses Thailand had the opportunity to showcase the premium coach, Volvo B8R
On Sept 15th 2020, Volvo Buses Thailand had the opportunity to showcase the premium coach, Volvo B8R, at the Annual Meeting of Thai Transportation Operators Association in the capital city, Bangkok.
Volvo’s bus plant in Borås has now become one of the first bus production facilities that relies solely on renewable energy. All the energy that the factory uses comes from renewable sources, such as hydropower and biofuels. The factory’s overall energy consumption has also been reduced by 15 per cent in just the past few years.
Volvo Buses Thailand joined a traditional Lucia reception in Bangkok, hosted by the Swedish Embassy on 11 December 2019.
Volvo Buses Thailand participated in the Annual Meeting – Thai Transport Operators Association at Chaopraya Park, Bangkok, where #BusOperators were given the opportunity to learn about Volvo Buses product offering.

Volvo Buses and Famco Al Futtaim Auto & Machinery Co (Famco) have been selected supplier of 373 city buses to Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This is Volvo’s largest chassis order to date in Dubai, and the largest ever purchase of Euro VI city buses in the Middle East region.

Volvo presents new electric articulated bus – higher capacity, less noise and better air quality
Volvo Buses is now extending its range of electrified buses with an all-electric articulated bus for quiet and emission-free high-capacity operations – the Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated. The company now has a comprehensive range of electrified vehicles featuring hybrid buses, electric hybrid buses and all-electric buses for the varying needs of a wide range of cities.
Volvo Buses Thailand participated in the annual Thai Transportation Operators Association meeting in March 2019. At this meeting, operators are given the opportunity to share and discuss #RoadSafety and initiatives to control #TrafficPollution. This year’s event was attended by a large number of operators and bus drivers that showed immense interest in the #VolvoB8R chassis.

Thailand’ s Minister of Transport visited Volvo Group Thailand Bangkok Plant
On Sep 13, 2018 Volvo Buses, Region Thailand welcomed H.E. Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Thailand’s Minister of Transport and Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, Staffan Herrström to the Volvo Group Thailand Bangkok Plant.
Happy, satisfied passengers are the best thing about the job. The handling and performance of the bus and the driver’s working environment mean a lot. But the most important thing of all for the drivers of coaches and long-distance buses is a high level of road safety. This was the result of a new survey by Volvo Buses which involved asking 1000 coach and bus drivers from 34 European countries about their work.
Volvo Buses has received an order for four Volvo 7900 Electric buses from transport providers Bivab and Uddevalla Omnibus for the city of Uddevalla in western Sweden. Volvo hybrid buses have been operating in the city of Uddevalla since 2014.
