Initiated by the Department of Transportation, five passenger buses have been converted into mobile vaccination clinics to service the local transportation workers in Parañaque city, The Philippines. The five units are premium Volvo B8R low entry models, provided by AutoDelta Coach Builders Inc.(AutoDelta), Volvo Buses’ sole authorized distributor and selected body builder in The Philippines
Manufactured in Sweden, the Volvo B8RLE chassis is powered by the Euro 5, Volvo D8C 330 engine, developed to achieve high fuel efficiency with minimum noise output, ideal for growing cities, and suited for high passenger capacity routes needing quick entry and exit. Prior to the conversion these B8RLE were operated by RRCG, Auto Delta’s operating arm.
The nationwide vaccination program started early in August at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, covering public utility vehicle drivers, conductors and other transport workers, and will later on be implemented to other regions. Volvo and AutoDelta are committed to ensure the smooth operation of the Volvo B8RLE’s.
“The Covid-19 pandemic presents the world with challenges that are unprecedented, together with our business partners and customers, we strive to support the local government initiatives through all stages in these difficult times,” shared Jeremy Knight, General Manager of Distributor Markets, APAC North Region at Volvo Buses.
Volvo Buses would like to thank AutoDelta for the long term partnership and for the close involvement in local government initiatives supporting vaccination of transportation system workers, increasing the high level of safety for staff and passengers alike utilising the Volvo vehicles.
